Evaluation: Q2 How Effective is the Combination of your Main Product and Ancillary Texts?

The combination of my media products overall were ensured to compliment one another in a bid to show the skill that was used to make them. The album poster began the sequence of the 'out of this world' idea whilst I watched my music video over and over. The digipak was a must when it came to selecting a background otherwise the poster became irrelevant; however post-production will explain that the rest of the digipak will have to tone down in terms of the background and colour scheme to ensure that the audience isn't bored or shocked by the overuse of the design.

Evaluation: Q1 In what ways do your media products use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

Overall I believe that the conventions of my media products have challenged media products today. In the respect that I wanted my music video to be the best that it could, I didn't have a total disregard for the original music video or for others but there were always other music videos that my partner and I examined together to look for ideas to ensure that we had a professional looking end product.

Final Product: Stolen Dance by Milky Chance

I'm extremely excited to present my final product. This music video is called Stolen Dance by Milky Chance. It is performed mainly by Aaron who plays the main male and Lauren who plays the main female. Enjoy!

What Went Well, What Could Be Improved?

Now that the music video is finished I'm overjoyed that I can now present our hard work to everyone. Looking back I was adamant that the song was a fantastic choice and the idea behind it worked well.

WWW(What Went Well):
Personally I am extremely pleased by the shots that we did take and the storyline that we stuck to through endless hours of discussion over the adaptation and change of the original narrative. The shots that we took were set up well and filmed properly. I have to say thanks to my team mate as I was ill one filming day and she had to take over main filming. As well as this, I was happy with the fact that our editing was also stress free and worked out well. It was clear to us that editing isn't easy and being an amateur at using Final Cut Pro, I was worried that the music video would have an amateur look to it. Now that it's finished and audience feedback has agreed, the video looks perfectly professional and our use of effects within the editing stages showed my partner and I knew what we were doing.

WCBI (What Could Be Improved):
As many would say, I don't think anything should change as this process was extremely hard and I'd never gone through it before, therefore I'd change nothing. However in seeing the video done and the evaluation stages closing too, I believe there are a few changes I may have made.
Firstly in listening to a song every time you edit, it become monotonous and bland, therefore I'd change the song originally; same genre but maybe faster paced.
Secondly, I'd integrate the actors we used and my include more so that there was a variety to look for, but this could become confusing.
Lastly, I'd have planned our schedule's better as I live a long way away from my partner and I feel if we managed our time better the music video would have been completed quicker.
